Persilscheine und falsche Pässe : wie die Kirchen den Nazis halfen
Reveals the help extended by German authorities and by the Catholic Church to war criminals who were involved in the murder of Jews or in the euthanasia program. The Vatican and the International Red Cross provided these criminals with false passports for their escape to foreign countries. The Evangelical Church competed with the Catholics in providing assistance to Nazi war criminals. Relates, from the Nuremberg Trials, the involvement of German industries in forced labor, welfare granted to interned criminals in the Landsberg prison, and the suspension of the Church's assistance only after the death of the last interned criminal in 1986.
