Sauver les enfants

Memoirs of a Jewish woman, born in Paris in 1919, whose parents were Russian immigrants. From 1940 she lived in the south of France and was engaged in the activities of OSE. In November 1941 she was sent to the internment camp in Rivesaltes in order to get children out, which was possible in specific cases. Describes the camp and her efforts to place the children in the special "children's homes" of OSE, of which there were 18 in central France. From 1942 the goal was to save children from deportation - arranging for Aryan papers, hiding with non-Jewish families, and illegal border crossings were the main spheres of action. These activities contributed to the rescue of a relatively large number of Jewish children in the south of France.
