Based on interviews, relates the experiences of 33 French Jews who survived the Holocaust. Some of them experienced discrimination and persecution in France in hiding, living in the Free Zone, or imprisoned in French internment camps, while others emigrated. Some were members of the resistance, others were deported to concentration camps. Most lost part of their families during the Holocaust. Quotes extensively from the survivors' accounts.
