Memoirs of a Jew who was born in 1900 in Posen and later lived in Berlin, based on notes written upon his arrival in England in spring 1939. Reichmann, a former trustee of the Centralverein deutscher Staatsbürger jüdischen Glaubens, was arrested in the course of the "Kristallnacht" pogrom and imprisoned in Sachsenhausen. His report includes a description of the persecution of German Jewry between 1937-39 and a detailed account of life in Sachsenhausen and the physical and mental abuse he suffered. He was released on 27 December 1938 and emigrated with his wife to England. Includes bibliographical references (pages 285-288) and index. 293 pages ; 23 cm.
