Histoire du négationnisme en France
A history of the negationist movement in France, its development and its main figures. Explains that the negationists call themselves revisionists, which does not make sense because they do not "revise" history but negate the extermination of the Jews by the Nazis. Extremists among them contend that the Jews are responsible for World War II, and that they invented the genocide story in order to blame international powers so as to create the State of Israel, which turned fascist in its policy towards the Palestinians. Negationism was initiated in France by Maurice Bardèche, and continued by Paul Rassinier and Robert Faurisson. Describes their activities and those of other groups which propagate negationist ideas, such as the extreme right (among them La Vieille Taupe), the extreme left, and others. Discusses ties of the Front National and its leader Jean-Marie Le Pen with negationists. Presents, also, the ambiguous figure of Jean-Claude Pressac who is a hero for both negationists and historians of the Holocaust. Pp. 613-652 contain the text of an interview with Pressac conducted by Igounet in June 1995. Includes bibliographical references (pages 663-675) and index. 691 pages ; 21 cm.
