Inventář, 1975, 33 s., ev. č. 309. partly accessible The District Court in Jičín was established due to a new organization of the judiciary in 1850. It ruled in civil and legal proceedings, the land register agenda was transferred to it, and in criminal matters it was limited to less serious acts. In the years 1855-1868, the political administration was merged with the judiciary into a so-called mixed district office. In 1868, the Jičín District Court became independent again and functioned even after 1948 when it was renamed the People's Court in Jičín. The fonds contains documents of the court administration of the Jičín district. Of particular interest are the files from the post-war period, namely M - the declarations of death from 1945-1952 and D - inheritance files concerning the property of the relevant Jewish families. Files M - the Steiners, the Hellers, the Lustigs, the Hahns, the Hermanns, the Stránskýs, the Poláks, the Schicks, the Neumanns, the Hönigsfelds, the Guths, the Fischers, the Brauns, the Fišls, the Picks, the Kareis, the Netels, the Ornsteins, the Kantors, Vilém Bondy, Josef Hecht, Irena Korteová, Erika Fleischerová. Files D - the above-mentioned families. When searching for a specific inheritance file, it is possible to use the books of auxiliary records - registers D, which are stored in the registry room of the Jičín District Court from the given period.
