In 1850-1855, the judicial district of Nová Paka was part of the political district of Hořice, under the District Governor's Office in Hořice. In 1855, a mixed district office was established in Nová Paka. After its abolition in 1868, official activities were transferred to the district governor's office in Jičín. In 1903, the judicial district of Nová Paka was separated and a district governor's office was established there. In 1918, the district governor's office was renamed the district political administration, and in 1928 the district office. In May 1942, the office was abolished. In May 1945, a district national committee was established in Nová Paka.
