accessible The Vodňany District Office was established as a mixed district office in 1855 and dealt with the political and judicial agendas. It administered the judicial district of Vodňany and was subordinated to the Regional Office in Písek. In 1868, the mixed district office was abolished and the entire Vodňany judicial district was merged with the District Governor's Office in Písek. This situation lasted until 1940, when the Vodňany District Office was established as part of the Nazi occupation administrative reorganization. It lasted until 1942, when it was abolished by the Ministry of the Interior and its municipalities were incorporated into the district of the District Office of České Budějovice and the District Office of Písek. The fonds contains documents of the regional political state administration and the judicial administration, dealing with the economic, political, social and cultural conditions of the former judicial district of Vodňany. It includes official books, accounting material and file material. The following subject groups are of decisive importance for the Jewish history: the period of 1855-1868 - 5. Religious affairs; the period of 1940-1942 - 1. Constitutional affairs of the state, lands, districts and municipalities, 7. Education, religious, marriages, registry and foundation matters. Jewish can also be found in the following areas: Jewish religious community, community management (exclusion of Jews from municipal councils), Jewish affairs (prohibition of change of residence, reporting the Jews of the mixed race, action against evacuated Jews), anti-Jewish exhibition in Bavorov and Husinec, certificates of non-Jewish origin.
