He (along with his two brothers) left Vienna before the war. His parents (and many other relatives) stayed behind, and they perished in the Holocaust. Her grandparents were Robert Kibel and Therese Kibel (nee Klein). Her mother was born in Berlin. She (along with her three brothers) left Berlin before the war. Her mother and sister stayed behind, and also perished in the Holocaust. Her grandmother was Louise Schmelzer (nee Freisinger), and her aunt was Rosa Pollaczek. Approximately 20 people from my family died during the Holocaust. Her mother survived the war years in exile. She lived in England from 1939 until 1948. Open
