Oscar Loeser collection
Oscar Loeser (b. 1894), a Jew from Hamburg, was taken in to so called ‘protective custody’ in the immediate aftermath of the November Pogrom. According to his wife, Käte Loeser, he had fought for Germany in France and Russia during World War I, where he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class. Copy correspondence from Oscar Loeser in Sachsenhausen concentration camp and copy appeal from Käte Loeser, his wife, to the police authorities to release him and copy letter from her to Oscar. Open
