Copy papers re Paul Dickopf
This collection consists of copy papers which document the life and career of Paul Dickopf, formerly <em>SS Unterscharfführer</em>, and later head of Interpol. The papers consist of copy records of Dickopf's war-time career including items such as his cv, written in his own hand, and evidence on wanted lists of the <em>Reichskriminalpolizeiamt</em> that he was sought by the Nazi authorities. Open Paul Dickopf was born in 1910 in Müschenbach in Oberwesterwaldkreis and died in Bonn in 1973. After studying law and administration he joined the criminal police and later the security service. From September 1942 he went into hiding in Belgium (the circumstances of which are unknown) and later fled to Switzerland where he lived as a refugee until the end of the war. In 1947 he returned to Germany and joined the Federal German Police where he progressed to become head of the <em>Bundeskriminalamt</em>, Wiesbaden, and from 1968 president of Interpol.
