 In the collection there are files selected from the State Archives of the Ukrainian Security Service in Kiev and its branches by regions: Chernigov, Chernovtsy, Khmelnitskiy, Ternopol, Sumy, Rovno, Poltava, Nikolayev, Lvov, Kirovograd, Ivano-Frankovsk, Zaporozye, Zhitomir, Donetsk, Simferopol, Vinnitsa, Odessa and Drogobych.
 
 Collection description
 Files of investigations conducted by the People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD), the Counter-Intelligence Department (SMERSH [Death to Spies]), and the Ministry of State Security of Ukraine (MGB Ukr.SSR) against Nazi criminals, among them military commanders and SS officers, and Ukrainian collaborators who served as policemen in ghettos and in concentration camps.
 
 Additionally, in the collection there is documentation that was submitted to the court, such as reports of medical commissions, list of Jews who perished and those who survived, as well as Nazi documentation taken by the Red Army, personal documentation, photographs from annihilation camps, surveys made by the Soviet Union Security Service regarding concentration camps, indictments, protocols from court sessions and verdicts, testimonies of Jewish inmates who were forced to participate in the burning of corpses and obliteration of traces of the murder of Jews at Babiy Yar, testimonies and photographs pertaining to the poisoning of Jewish children and the murder of Jewish emotionally handicapped patients.
 
 In the collection there is a large number of names of collaborators who received various ranks after their studies, such as collaborators who received the rank of Wachtmann (guard) and served in the Sonderkommando in the concentration camps in the area of Poland.
