Documentation of the Reich Institute for the History of the New Germany, 1935-1945
 
 Documentation of the Reich Institute for the History of the New Germany: this was a historical institute, established in 1935, and its function was the rewriting of the new German history (from 1789 and on) in the spirit of Nazi ideology. The institute was placed under the supervision of the Science Ministry and Walter Frank, the Nazi historian, placed at its head. A central objective in the organization's activity was revealing the damage that was supposedly caused by Jews to Germany in the modern era. The Institute's occupation with the Jewish Question placed it in competition with other groups, primarily those that were under Rosenberg's jurisdiction. Following the trip by Rudolf Hess, Walter Frank's patron, to England and his imprisonment there, in 1941, the institute lost its influence and became irrelevant.
 
 The Collection: The documents are mainly manuscripts of books published by the Institute, scientific and pseudo-scientific research studies of the organization in various fields, including modern Jewish history in Europe and Sociology, documents relating to internal organization and regulations, and personal files of the employees in the organization.
