 The Gewerbliche Wirtschaft - GeWi department, under the administration of Schmidt, was subordinate on one hand to the Rüstungsinspektion, the military body responsible for the handling of matters of industry in the Netherlands, and subordinate to the Generalkommissar für Finanz und Wirtschaft (German Ministry of Finance and Industry) on the other hand; GeWi was divided to various groups (Gruppe), which dealt with various fields, including: textiles, tobacco, the draft of workers, and the construction branch; GeWi handled Besonderen Verwendung, regarding special cases: the diamond industry, culture, propaganda, and other matters;

 Correspondence by the Besonderen Verwendung with, among others, Heinemann, and with people and various institutions in the Netherlands and in Berlin, regarding Aryanization of the diamond industry and other industries during 1942-1944; correspondence by the Besonderen Verwendung, regarding the special status of Jews who were designated to Barneveld or to labor at Philips in 1943; survey reports by the head of the culture and propaganda department, Wickel, regarding public opinion in the Netherlands in 1940.
