Bessarabian Governorate

The Bessarabian Governorate was organized based of the law of the Romanian government of September 4, 1941. All administrative authority in the territory of the former Bessarabia was entrusted to the governorship led by the governor. The functions of the governorship included the management and control of the activities of all the administrative bodies of Bessarabia. The directories, local authorities, and the council of the governorship, which coordinated and directed the administrative activities, were subjected to the governor.
