Directorate of Administrative Affairs of the Bessarabian Government

Directorate of administrative affairs of the Bessarabian government is organized in the occupied territory of Bessarabia on the basis of the law of the Romanian government of September 4, 1941. The directorate monitored the implementation of laws and instructions of higher authorities; also implemented leadership, supervision, and coordination of local government activities on the occupied territory. The directorate had the following structure: administrative department, local government department, economic department, financial department, and personnel department. Files of the Administrative Department (correspondence with the governor, police and gendarmerie on the use of prisoners of war for the construction of highways; on checking the regime of prisoners in the ghettos; cases on the consideration of complaints and petitions submitted by the residents of Bessarabia; correspondence with the mayors about reverting and getting Romanian surnames; lists of persons authorized to enter Bessarabia from Transnistria; lists of residents of Bessarabia and Bukovina deprived of Romanian citizenship; lists of residents of Bessarabia who received certificates about the deportation of their family members by the Soviet authorities; orders, and resolutions by the governorship to establish a camp in the Fridintal village in Kiliya county; reports and complaints against the actions of officials; lists of staff members of prefectures, preturas and city halls in Bessarabia, files related to establishing ethnic origin and citizenship of the residents of Bessarabia; lists of archival documents exported to Romania), etc. Local Administration Department; Economic Department (correspondence on the property of religious institutions and its use; lists of employees; statistics on the number of property, enginery and equipment planned to be exported from Bessarabia to Romania; lists of persons who arrived from the occupied territory of Ukraine and settled in Bessarabia); Financial Department; Personnel Department, etc. Îndrumătorul Arhivei Naţionale a Republicii Moldova (partea II-a, 1918 – începutul secolului XXI, ediţia a II-a, revăzută şi completată).
