Bertil Bergströms samling
Bertil Bergström was born on May 3, 1915 in Norrköping and grew up in Åby with his parents and two brothers.In his youth he was involved in the Swedish Missionary Association, Åby Missionary Assembly.When Bertil was 13 years old, the family moved to Malmö. In Malmö, he was involved in the Swedish Red Cross for many years of his life and was chairman and leader of the Youth Red Cross 1943-47, leader of the Swedish Red Cross Malmöhus District 1969-74 and chairman of the Malmö Red Cross 1969-74. During his active years in the Red Cross, he participated in prisoner of war exchanges, diplomatic exchanges, refugee work and was a tour leader and instructor. He was one of the chauffeurs in the Swedish operation with the 'White buses'. Bergström was also a prison pastor in Ystad 1952-75. The archive contains, among other things, documents and memos about the 'White Buses'.
