Hlavnoslúžnovský úrad Komárno

The fonds consists of six groups of files: confidential files, mobilization files, administrative files, files concerning the misdemeanor, public procurement files, and core personnel files. In all groups of files one can find valuable documents concerning the political, economic and social status of Jews in and around Komárno. For example, the fonds contains the list of merchants and holders of licences, the list of construction material traders from 1942 etc. Besides that there are files concerning the internment of Jews, instructions and orders concerning the military labor units. Other files pertain to the cancellation of Jewish associations or the 1940 attempt to re-activate the Union of Jewish Youth. The fonds also contains the list of Jewish property owners. Many of documents concern the orders aimed to limit and decrease the numbers of Jewish businessmen in the district. Some documents pertain to the usage of confiscated radios which belonged to Jews originally. Documents from 1944 concern various anti-Jewish measures, such as the ban to enter public spa, confiscation of telescopes and cameras. Another documents from that period concern the closing of shops owned by Jews. Other files pertain to the controlling of compulsory marking of Jews. The persecution of Jews in this period is also documented by files concerning the administrators of Jewish property, allocation of apartments that belonged to Jews originally, or reports on the list of confiscated books that belonged to Jews originally. Files can be reproduced in accordance with the rules of the archive. After the First Vienna Award (2 November 1938) Komárno was occupied by Hungarian troops on 6 November 1938). For the next six weeks there was a military administration introduced at the territory after which, effective of 22 December 1938, a new Ordinance No. 9930 on the administration of the ceded territory came to power. The Chief Constable´s Office in Komárno, the office with the district competence, was established. Hungarian public administration function in Komárno until 30 March 1945. Accessible.
