Eichmann Trial -- Sessions 6, 7 and 8 -- Hausner's opening statement

Sessions 6, 7 and 8. Begins before the court is in session. The camera focuses on Defense Attorney Dr. Robert Servatius as he speaks with his co-counsel, Mr. Dieter Wechtenbruch. The courtroom begins to fill with spectators, and Attorney General Gideon Hausner interacts with a few people from the audience. Adolf Eichmann is brought into the courtroom; moments later the Judges enter and the session begins. Hausner continues his opening statement from Section 3: "III - The Accused," which discusses Eichmann's life before and after he joined the Nazi Party. The Prosecution follows with Section 4: "IV - The Final Solution of the Jewish Question," an in-depth description of the Final Solution, and Eichmann's role in the Jewish extermination. Hausner asserts: "And for the execution of that promise to destroy European Jewry he [Adolf Hitler] used another Adolf-Adolf Eichman, who is on trial before you today." Emil Knebel was a cinematographer known for Andante (2010), Adam (1973), and Wild Is My Love (1963). He was one of the cameramen who recorded daily coverage of the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem (produced by Capital Cities Broadcasting Corp and later held academic positions in Israel and New York teaching filmmaking at universities.
