Hélène (Nelly) Cazes-Benatar (1898-1979) was a Moroccan-born female lawyer, Zionist, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee representative in Northern Africa during the Second World War. In this function, she oversaw the Joint's aid activities for Jewish refugees from Nazi occupied Europe in Northern Africa. Hélène Benatar is also known as Hélène Ben-Atar or variations thereof. Contains personal papers of Hélène Benatar regarding her activities concerning Jewish refugees in Northern Africa (mostly in Morocco).
