Cap worn by a young girl in a concentration camp
Ruth Blocher was born Rochelle Bolber in Wilno, Poland in 1925. In 1941, when the Germans occupied Wilno, she and her family (her parents and her two sisters) were interned in the Wilno ghetto for two years. After the ghetto, they were sent to Poland and Estonia to different camps. One of the camps was Stutthof concentration camp in Poland where Ruth's father and younger sister perished. Cap was given to Ruth Blocher upon arrival in Stuthoff Concentration Camp. No restrictions on access
