Michael Kolanik papers
Michael Kolanik, Jr., (1948-2004) was the son of Michael Kolanik, Sr., (1913-1992), who was born in Pennsylvania but taken to Poland by his Polish-born mother and uncle in 1921. During the German occupation of Poland, he was forced into labor service on farms and in factories in Germany. The Michael Kolanik papers document Kolanik's unsuccessful efforts to receive compensation or recognition from the German, Polish, and American governments for the time his father, Michael Kolanik, Sr., spent in Nazi labor camps in Germany during World War II.
