William Ornstein papers

Contains information about war crimes trials; war criminals; prisoners of Mauthausen concentration camp; and William Ornstein's participation in several war crimes trials. William Ornstein was born in Drohobycz, Poland, (now Ukraine) on 16 Feb. 1915. During the Holocaust, he was imprisoned in the Nazi concentration camps of Dachau and Mauthausen. Following World War II, Ornstein appeared as a witness in various German courts and testified against several war criminals. He later emigrated to the United States where he died.
