United States Army Cpl. Richard T. "Dick" Lockhart served with the 106th Infantry Division. He was captured as a POW on December 16, 1944 during the Battle of Bulge. After four days and nights in box cars with little to no food and water, he arrived on December 26, 1944 at Stalag IX-B in Bad Orb, Germany. He was liberated in April 1945.
