Anne Blaustein photograph collection

The collection consists of studio portraits of the family of David Liss, originally of Poland, including his wife Julia, son Henryk, and daughter Niusienka, all of whom perished at Auschwitz in 1944. Also included an identification photograph of David used for his post-war American passport. David and Julia Liss lived in Poland with their two children, Niusienka and Henryk, before the German invasion. They were deported to Auschwitz concentration camp, and Julia, Niusienka, and Henryk were killed there on Aug. 31, 1944. David Liss survived and immigrated to the United States in 1948. He operated a sweater factory in New Jersey until Oct. 1981 when he immigrated to Israel. He died in Israel on Oct. 10, 1982.
