Nicholas Berman papers
The papers consist of a certificate with a statement of Dr. Mikios Bermann's release from Theresienstadt and two registration certificates issued to Dr. Mikulas Berman and Gisela Bermanova, his wife, by the Czechoslovakian Repatriation Office. Nicholas Berman lived in Uzhorod, Czechoslovakia, before World War II. In June 1941 he entered the Hungarian Army as a physician. In June 1944 he was deported to Auschwitz concentration camp and then to Theresienstadt. In June 1945 Berman went to Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), where he reunited with his wife, Gisela, who also survived Auschwitz.
