Irvin Wittwer photographs
Copyright Holder: United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Irvin Wittwer was a soldier with the 11th Armored Division of the United States Army during World War II. The 11th Armored Division were among the first American troops to arrive at Mauthausen after its liberation in May 1945. The collection consists of photographs depicting the Mauthausen concentration camp after liberation by the United States Army, as well as scenes from Gallneukirchen, Austria, Rodach, Germany, Bayreuth, Germany, and Cham, Germany.
