Copyright Holder: Jewish Care Sydney Welfare organization conceived in 1935 in response to persecution of Jews in Europe, which launched an appeal to save German Jewry through migration on the first day of Passover, 7 April 1936. In subsequent decades the organisation became a major welfare service provider to the Jewish community, in aged care, family services, mental health and other areas. Personal case files of Jewish refugees who immigrated to Australia between 1937-1960s. Records include photos, emigration questionnaires, registration cards, requests for landing permits, personal documents, correspondence with Joint & HIAS, some information about personal experiences during the war, and family search requests.
