Police Intelligence Service (Sub-series GB from series G). Special Brigades under German Occupation
Records of Les Brigades Spéciales (BS) [Special Brigades] of the Préfecture de Police, which were a part of the Direction Centrale des Renseignements Généraux (now called the Department of Intelligence of the Prefecture of Police) and was created specifically to track down enemies of the Vichy government. Records are divided into two parts: a group BS1 to follow Communist and Gaullist propaganda and activities (M.O.I. Francs Tireurs Partisans, etc.), and a group BS2 was created in 1942, to track-down “terrorist” groups and individuals who were planning attacks against the German occupying forces and against collaborationist groups like the Milice (French Militia) Copyright Holder: Archives de la Préfecture de Police de Paris
