Records relate mainly to diverse commitment of Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich in the context of Christian-Jewish dialogue. It reflects in almost all of his activities, as the secretary of the Christian-Jewish working group in Switzerland, as a director of the continental European district of B'nai B'rith and representative of B'nai B'rith International, or in his journalistic work and his lecturing. Of particular interest are Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich's reports on his life in National Socialist Germany, his escape and his first years as a refugee in Switzerland. Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich (March 27, 1921-October 21, 2007) was a Swiss Jewish religious philosopher. Ehrlich fled Nazi Germany for Switzerland in June 1943, using a false passport. From 1961 to 1994 he was European director of the Jewish organisation B'nai B'rith. He was an adviser to German Cardinal Augustin Bea at the Second Vatican Council in preparing "Nostra aetate", a key document on Roman Catholic-Jewish relations. He died at his home in Riehen, a suburb of Basel.
