Mannenjas
The nobleman Fujiwara Yasumasa is just about to be robbed by his outlawed brother Kidomaru, from whom he was estranged. Kidomaru, however, is enchanted by Fujiwara’s flute playing and abandons his attack. This famous scene is known from plays and graphic art. It is skilfully rendered in the woven cloth, with the sword silhouetted against the disc of the moon.
