American Military Government in Germany. Robinson, Deputy Military Government Officer of Bayreuth, while Lieutenant Irving Moschel, Legal Officer, is prosecuting the case. A cleck stands between Lieutenant Moschel and the older defendant. The pair pleaded guilty and were sentenced to pay a heavy fine. These courts meet regularly to try offenders ao Military Government regulations and have jurisdiction over offenses against laws of the Military Government by persond within the occupied territory exept members of the Allied forces. Three grades of courts are operated: A General Military Court of not less than three officers, an Intermediate Military Court of one or more officers and a Summary Military Court consisting of one officer. In each court, at least one member must be a lawyer serving with the Military Government. The nature of the offense determines the court in which it will be tried. There is no appellate jurisdiction but all cases are reviewed administratively. The accused may be represented by counsel or conduct his own defense.
