Hitler and Mussolini view. Bommed out conference room.

Hitler and Mussolini view. Bommed out conference room. Hitler and Mussolini survey the wrecked conference room at the Fuehrer's headquarters after an assassination bomb interrupted a meeting of Nazi leaders July 20, 1944. Hitler received slight burns and concussion but no serious injury, according to an official Nazi statement issued in Stockholm. Thirteen of his personal staff were injured. Less than eight hours after the attempt on his life was revealed, Hitler told the German people by radio that Reich Minister Himmler had been appointed Commandor-in-Chief of the Home Army. This radiophoto received in London.
