Marienburg - target for attack.
Marienburg - target for attack. Bomb craters from the previous attack on the Focke-Wulf plant in Marienburg, East Prussia, are clearly visible in this aerial picture taken as Flying Fortresses of the 8th U.S. Air Force approached Easter Sunday, April 9, 1944, to carry out a large scale assault. Although the plant was put out of production in an attack Oct. 9, 1943, German engineers had rebuilt it extensively. Bomb craters from the previous raid are visible in this picture.
