Highly organized, with men trained at fire protection school at Eberswald, members of the Feuerschutzpolizei, (elite fire guards) haven been purged of Nazi influence and reorganized to prevent disaster which might be inicial to Military Government or of the security of the occupying forces. Auxiliary fire brigades wich functioned during the Allied bombings have been disbanded and some of the personnel absorbed into the firefighting organization in place of ousted Nazis.
