Allies speed reparitation of displaced persons inside Germany. These Polish children, some of whom are in a classroom for the first time intheir lives, learn to write in an improvised school set up by U.S. Military Government authotities at the captured Wehrmacht post of Gnienau Kasserne, near the east shore of the Rhine Rive across from Goblenz. The children use pencils and notebooks found in a former German Headquartes. Young women, liberated from Nazi slavery, act as teachers.
