French university opens to U.S. troops. Major Homer L. Fry of Dallad, Texas, (standing) in charge of the U.S. soldier-students as the University of Nancy in Nancy, France, welcomes 450 newly-arrived troops. In an eight weeks course, sposored by the U.S. Army's Information an Educaton Division, the man will study the French language and civilization.
