Study center for the U.S. troops opens at Sorbonne. Brigadier General Paul W. Thomson, Chief of the Information and Education Division of the United States Forces in the European Theater, addresses the audience of more than 700 U.S. offcers and enlistedmen, comprising the first class of the Paris Study Center, during the opening ceremonies of the center July 17, 1945, in the Grand Amphitheater of the Sorbonne. Prefessor Charles Cestre of the Sorbonne is seen right. The Paris Study Center is sponsored by General Thompson's Division, with the cooperation of the French Ministry of Education.
