Christmas comes to Madrid. Three crying children who waited in vain with what was left of their family's possessions in a ruined street of Madrid for transport to evacuate them from the city. The transport never came and the fate of these children was never learned by the London staff photographer who took these pictures. He says that scenes such as this are everyday occurrences as Christmas comes to Madrid.
