General de Gaulle reviews cadets at U.S. Military Academy. General Charles de Gaulle, President of the French Provisional Government, salutes the colors as he reviews cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, in the eastern state of New York, on August 26, 1945. With him are: Major General Francis B. Wilby (extreme left), Superintendent of West Point, and Cadet Battalion Leader Thomas Constant. General de Gaulle arrived in the U.S. August 22, and made a three-day visit to President Harry S. Truman, in Washington, the U.S. capital.
