Nazi-Looted Jewish Archives in Moscow. A guide to Jewish Historical and Cultural Collections in the Russian State Military Archive, ed. by D. E. Fishman, M. Kupovetsky, V. Kuzelenkov, Scranton - London 2010. The collection's contents are catalogued in two inventories, which are arranged by document type in order of the collection originators' surnames. The collection constitutes an accumulation of various individuals' documents united only by authorship or by the documents' belonging to a particular individual. This collection of documents was compiled by archival staff from unsystematized files. The collection includes notes (author unknown) on the situation of Jews in Austria; correspondence of S. Barber with Jewish émigrés from Czechoslovakia on helping them obtain residency rights in countries of Western Europe (1938-39); correspondence of the journalist Rudolf Breitscheid with H. Mann, M. Braun, and F. Wolram, and with publishers and other addressees, on creating a German people's front to fight the Nazi regime and on renewing Breitscheid's contributorship to the newspaper Pariser Tageszeitung (1938-39); correspondence of A. Roth with Jewish organizations about obtaining a Cuban immigration visa, and with relatives and acquaintances on personal matters (1934-40); and letters from relatives of Shattner in Romania and Palestine on personal matters (1939-40).
