German school reopend under Allied supervision. German mothers ar shown registering their children for admission to the first public school reopened in Germany in June, 1945, by the U.S. Military Government in Aachen. More than 600 registered for the first four grades, to which the opening was limited. Twenty-two teachers, non of whom were members of the Nazi Party, were chosen as instructors by the Americans and textbooks were approved and printed by the Military Government.
