German school reopend under Allied supervision. The director of school in Aachen, Germany, Heinrich Beckers, addresses German children and their parents prior to the opening of the first public school in June, 1945, inder strict supervision of the U.S. Military Government. More than 600 registered for the first four grades, to which the opening was limited. Twenty-two teachers, none of whom former members of the Nazi Party, were chosen as instructors and textbookswere approved and printed by the Military Government.
