Stars and Stripes, G.I. Morale Booster No. 1. Corporal Luke Doheny, commercial artist from Chicago, keeps battle positions up to date with a map just before the end of the war in Europe. The type of map depended on the top war story of the day. When the lead stiry warranted a map for illustration purposes, Doheny checked with foreign editor Taylor for the latest advances of armies and drew a new map. Orientation officers in the field often cut out "Stars and Stripes"maps for lecture purposes.
