German schools reopen under allied supervision. A German mother registers her three children in June, 1945, as the first public school reopens in Aachen, Germany, under strickt U.S. Military Government control. More than 600 pupils registerd for the classes, composed only to the first four grades. Twenty-two German teachers, none of whom are former members of the Nazi Party, were appointed as instructors. Textbooks were approved and printed by the Military Government.
